The last time I saw the ever beautiful and charming Joan Okorodudu was at Linda Ikeji’s Style Night held at the Jade Palace on Adeola Odeku Street on Victoria Island, Lagos. She was full of smiles and dimples as she admired the awesome designs of Bayo Adegbe of Modela Couture and other creative designers. She has been doing her best to promote Nigerian haute couture locally and internationally.
Joan Okorodudu was showcased with Corjor International, Andrew Nowell, Van Maela, Thinkking Hats, Cameron Gray, Kalaa and Destiny’s Creations & Designs, Saman Zar, Tatjana and other fashion designers who were from the US, Pakistan, Serbia, Nigeria and other countries.

Martin Scorsese’s film adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s novel Shutter Island has already grossed over $41 million in less than one week of its release.
Leonardo DiCaprio is the hero of this thriller. If Paramount Pictures had not postponed the release from October 2, 2009 to February 19, 2010, the film would have been overwhelmed by the momentum of James Cameron’s Avatar. So, it was a smart move that has made Stutter Island the top movie at the box office with $41,062,440 from 2991 theatres so far.

I don’t get tired of viewing the Toy Story, because I am thrilled by the fantastic friendship of the toy cowboy Woody, and toy astronaut Buzz Lightyear, after a bitter encounter and they later become inseparable buddies leading other animated toys in different adventures. In between the lines of the Toy Story are lessons of our life on earth. I regard it as one of the best animated movies for children. I would love to see a production of the Toy Story with real people playing the roles of Woody and Buzz.
Toy Story 3 coming out on the 18th of June, 2010 will be one of the must see films in summer.

New Jersey Man Pleads Guilty to Unauthorized Recording of Newly Released Motion Pictures In Movie Theater
WASHINGTON, Feb. 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Keshawn Deron Wilson of Asbury Park, N.J., pleaded guilty today in Tampa, Fla., to federal charges of using a video camera to record then newly-released motion pictures in a New Jersey theater, announced Assistant Attorney General of the Criminal Division Lanny A. Breuer and U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida A. Brian Albritton.
Keshawn Wilson, 25, pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas B. McCoun III to two counts of unauthorized recording of motion pictures in a motion picture exhibition facility. According to information presented in court, Wilson was arrested on Sept. 13, 2008, by Ocean Township, N.J., police officers, while he was in the process of recording Picturehouse Entertainment’s then newly-released motion picture “The Women” at the Middlebrook Galleria 10 Clearview Cinemas in Ocean, N.J. At the time he was arrested, officers seized a high definition video camera with a 30 gigabyte hard drive from Wilson. A subsequent search of the camera’s hard drive revealed a copy of the then newly-released movie “The Women” and a copy of Universal Studios’ then newly-released movie “Burn After Reading,” which Wilson admitted he recorded the previous day at the same theater.
Wilson faces a maximum sentence of six years in prison, a $500,000 fine, two years of supervised release following the prison term and an order of restitution. A sentencing date has not yet been set by the court.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Donald Hansen of the Middle District of Florida and Seth Kosto of the District of New Jersey, as well as Assistant Deputy Chief for Litigation Clement McGovern of the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section. This case was investigated by the FBI. The Motion Picture Association of America, an industry trade group that represents major producers and distributors of entertainment, including motion picture studios, provided assistance in this case.

I read Knud Romer’s riveting interview with Lars von Trier on his
gothic melodrama Antichrist in The Film # 66/Cannes issue.
I see the Antichrist more as an expressionist art film, even if it
provokes widespread controversy among the public, only the literati
and aficionados of the genre would be convinced to appreciate the
psychoanalytic themes of Trier’s Kafkaesque nightmare.

Day Angelina Jolie Took My Breath Away
By Hope Obioma Opara
She has the heart of a lioness, the compassion of a mother and the peace of a dove.
I came all the way from Nigeria to France to attend the 62nd Cannes Film Festival. It was my first time. I was one of over 5, 000 journalists crawling all over the place with pens, notepads, cameras, laptops, cell phones and whatever tool was necessary to record and report the best news and highlights of the prestigious film festival.
I’m overwhelmed by the awesome atmosphere of the most celebrated film festival in the world – with a parade of the most glamorous film stars and other celebrities on the red carpet at the Palais des Festivals. Angelina Jolie is on my wishlist and I’m sniffing for any news on her.
Brad Pitt arrived earlier on the French Riviera and Jolie came later on Tuesday evening, straight from the trial of Congolese warlord Thomas Lubanga at The Hague, arraigned for engaging child soldiers. Jolie’s passion for children is legendary as she has demonstrated by adopting children from different continents and going to Africa to care for children in refugee camps. I came to Cannes to see if I could interview her and seeing her with my very eyes would be overwhelming.
My excitement reached fever-pitch on Wednesday May 20, when the whole place went agog over the arrival of the screen goddess, Angelina Jolie, and her beau, Brad Pitt. The paparazzi pack thronged the Grand Theatre Lumiere — venue of the premiere of Pitt’s Inglourious Bastards — like a swarm of bees and I could not even come near the edge of the red carpet, because the paparazzi from America and Europe were already overcrowding the borders. It was the most dramatic and colourful moment as Pitt and Angelina walked arm in arm with so much gaiety and passion like a scene from an opera. Pitt played the dashing gentleman in a black suit, white shirt and black bow-tie and Jolie’s dress was wow! She was a spectacular sight in a tea rose Versace Atelier draped gown. She was absolutely gorgeous in the backless chiffon gown with a plunging neckline and a slit showing us all her smooth and spotless right leg, thigh and all. Her diamond earrings and awesome dress were not what kept me gazing at her, but her unique tattoos. The most interesting were the ones on her upper arm showing some numbers which those who knew her well said were indicating the geographical coordinates (longitudes and latitudes) from the locations where her children first entered her life. She has the heart of a lioness, the compassion of a mother and the peace of a dove. These are the qualities making Angelina Jolie a unique personality, besides being the most powerful woman in the world today.

Excitement Surrounding “Unveil Your Pink” Mounts!
BOYNTON BEACH, Fla., Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ — As March 20th grows near, excitement surrounding the upcoming charity fundraiser, “Unveil Your Pink”, mounts. “Unveil Your Pink” is being organized by South Florida-based women’s networking organization, Women On The Move, founded by Leslie Harris. The Charity Event, that benefits The South Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen For The Cure, features Real Housewife Of Atlanta, Lisa Wu Hartwell and DJ Cassidy. When asked why she thought the response to the event has been so positive, founder Leslie Harris simply stated: “People go above and beyond for Susan G. Komen for The Cure, because Susan G. Komen For The Cure goes above and beyond for people”. The people going above and beyond for this cause reads like a who’s who: Versace, MAC Cosmetics, GL Homes, Prime 112, and Barefoot wines are just a few of the companies that have reached out during tough economic times to help raise funds for The Global Leader in Breast Cancer Research and Program funding. Women On The Move is not only putting a new and innovative spin on the way Women are networking these days, they are also putting a new and innovative spin on fundraising. “By networking together, Women can make fundraisers fun, chic, and still be very affective,” said Harris. Chic and Fun are understatements when you look at the things being auctioned for “Unveil Your Pink.” Attending the final rounds of The Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, GA, attending the finals of both the Men and Women Tennis tournament at The US Open, attending Fashion Week in the fall, and The NCAA Final Four are just a few once-in-a lifetime experiences that are being offered up to help raise funds. Autographed memorabilia such as a Rolling Stones Guitar, Michael Jackson Thriller Album, Bruce Springsteen Guitar, and even a President Barack Obama baseball are only a few of the things being offered on Women On The Move’s website, www.mywomenonthemove.com, as well as on Charitybuzz.com, where you can find things like a Versace Internship. “Breast Cancer Affects everyone. I believe that everyone should play a part in the fight to find a cure, no matter how small or large. Every bit counts.” Said Harris. Lisa Wu Hartwell, who will be appearing on an episode of Tyler Perry’s “Meet The Browns” Feb. 24th, also feels strongly about supporting this great cause: “I have a family member, as well as a very close friend who are fighting this fight. I am committed to doing what I can do to help.” Mrs. Wu-Hartwell will be starting the filming of the third season of the highly rated Bravo series, The Real Housewives Of Atlanta next month, during the “Unveil Your Pink” event.
